KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
1/ Prof. Dr.Bernard Tychon
Liege university, Belgium
Bernard TYCHON, agronomist and PhD in Environmental Sciences is Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Management of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Liège. Since 2017, he is also director of the SPHERES Research Unit that includes 140 researchers.
For 22 years, he has been leading a research group in Agrometeorology. Topics studied in his group concern the relationship between agriculture and the physical environment. More specifically, the main activities are related to the needs and requirements of water, radiation and temperature of crops and their associated diseases, at different latitudes, to predict the levels of agricultural production.
In particular, his research group contributed to the establishment of crop yield forecasting tools, operational warning systems for cereal diseases and integrated water management tools in different countries. In addition to the international trainings he has conducted on these tools, B. Tychon recently created a spin-off in precision farming.
He is a lecturer in agrometeorology, data processing and modeling, remote sensing and geographic information systems and diffuse pollution. He has published more than 250 scientific papers (books, research reports, conference proceedings, national and international scientific journals).

2/ Prof. Francesca De Filippis
University of Naples Federico II
Francesca De Filippis is a microbial ecologist with a background in Food Science. Her research interests span from food microbiology to the inter-connections among diet-human microbiome-health. She is expert in the study of microbial ecology in complex environments through the application of metagenomics and metatranscriptomics and in bioinformatics and biostatistics applied to high-throughput sequencing data.
She got the PhD in Food Science at the Department of Agricultural Sciences of the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) in 2015. Afterwards, she was Post-Doctoral researcher (2015-16), Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (2016-2022) and Associate Professor of Food Microbiology in the same institution. She also carried out research activity at APC Microbiome Institute of the University College of Cork (Ireland) and Argonne National Laboratory (USA). She participates as PI or team member into several National and European projects aiming at investigating microbial dynamics during food fermentation or spoilage. She is member of the Managing Board of the Task Force on Microbiome Studies of the University of Naples Federico II and member of the Board of Professors of the PhD School in Food Science. Her research activity is condensed in > 90 international publications since 2012, with an H-index of 40 and > 5,000 total citations (source: Scopus).
3/ Dr. Vo The Ky
Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City
Dr. Vo The Ky graduated from the Kyung Hee University of Korea in 2018, a post-doc researcher at Kyung Hee University from 2018-2019. He works in the Chemical Engineering Department, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City (IUH), Vietnam.
The research interests of Dr. Ky cover the development of MOF-based materials and their applications for the environmental treatment, including the storage and separation of CO2, CO, N2, VOCs, and adsorption-photodegradation of organic pollutants. Another research field is bio-energy, which involves biomass conversion and catalytic upgrading of bio-oil. The research direction focuses on exploring pyrolysis and hydrothermal liquefaction of biomass to biofuel and on developing catalysts for upgrading biofuel using continuous flow syntheses (spray pyrolysis, spray dying, microwave-assisted continuous flow).https://scholar.google.com/citations?user=W7IybQkAAAAJ&hl=en&oi=ao
4/ Prof. Takashi Yamashita, PhD
Dean of School of Engineering, Tokyo University of Technology, Japan
Prof. Takashi Yamashita, PhD graduated from the University of Tokyo in 1984. Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo 1988-1999, Massachusetts Institute of Technology 1996-1997, Tokyo University of Science 2000-2013, Tokyo University of Technology 2014-. Fellow of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK.
Research interest of Prof. Yamashita covers the development of polymeric materials for sustainable society. One research topic is fundamental and application of polyimides including the study on the charge transfer of polyimides, development of transparent polyimide, electrodeposition materials, and polyimide/inorganic composites. Another topic is the development of stimuli-responsive materials such as photo-mechanical materials, photochemically manipulation of organic aggregates, and photosensitive materials. The third topic is development of novel techniques for material revolution from petroleum to naturally occurring resources such as lignin or bio cells.
